Day 4 : June 10, 2008 (Tuesday)

Frankfurt Campsite to Fussen, Germany

Today's weather was so nice. Right after Fajr, we couldn't close our eyes anymore as it was so warm in a tent. Today we have to pack our tent again as we needed to move to another place-Austria Campsite. Everybody was so busy with their own activities. I took this opportunity to go to do laundry. A full bag of clothes to be washed!!!!.. For info, in every Campsite we went, there's a facilities for laundry (wash and dry as well!) provided. While waiting for the laundries, we spent a moment viewing the scenery of the lake in front of our campsite.

At 8.30 am : Simple breakfast - cereal again!!! But in my pregnant state, I couldn't stomach cereal again so my lovely husband was taking a bowl of last night tomyam, special for the baby inside hihihii..... thanks thanks thanks...

9.40 am : leaved Frankfurt (Germany) campsite towards Neuchwanstein castle at Fussen, Germany. The journey today took 6 hours. Stopped at services as usual for a lunch then continued the journey. We’ve arrived Fussen around 3pm. The weather changed already... It was so dark up there but our hope was so bright to see the fairiest of all the fairy castles.

This castle was built by King Ludwig 2nd and situated on top of a hill surrounded by mountains and lakes. It was built between 2 mountains. It is a thin and tiny castle not a huge castle, but very nice looking. Unfortunately, King Ludwig died before the completion of the castle and he couldn't stay in his inspired castle not even seen them being completed.

Regarding Hairul, Mr Disney was inspired by this particular castle when he built his Disneyland fairy tale castle.

This is the castle (picture above) where that king actually lived, named Howen Shaunghen Castle (Yellow Castle). It is situated on another hill but not too high as Neuchwanstein Castle.

The coach parked at the bottom of the mountain. There are a few options for tourists to climb up the hill onto the castle. You can either choose buses for only Euro3 (return) or (Euro1.5-single) or by horse drawn carriage. Or if you like hiking, you can either walk using normal road (where all the buses or horses pass through) or using jungle track.

We've decided to ride the horses towards castle and using bus when leaved the castle. It costs us about Euro15 for four of us. The journey took about 20minutes. I was a bit suspicious when those both horses started breaking wind. And a few minutes later, the horses suddenly stopped. Why? Is it because we are so heavy and then couldn't afford to bring us up or what? Suddenly both of them 'defecated' (membuang? betul ke nie?). We were sitting right behind the horse and you just imagine how does it smell huh?. Luckily, they then continued riding us up to the hill...

We've spend a few hour viewing the surrounding of the castle. Deep in my heart keep asking, what is inside that castle actually? And how does it look like?

Then, we went to the hanging bridge situated opposite the castle. You cannot even talk about the scenery from the bridge. It was so amazing!!! The castle in front of you, mountains beside you, valley under your feet, sky on you head and you can even heard the waterfall on the mountain!!!

It was nearly dark when we took a bus down the hill. We found it hard to leave the castle.
While waiting for other passengers, my husband took my son and my daughter to the lakes on the bottom of the mountain, near parking area. My children were so exciting to swim in that lake. Ignoring the cold weather, raining day or gloomy day, both of them still dive into the lake!!!... And just stopped it when they get cold!!!... It was started raining that time and the weather became colder and colder...

We then continued to our next campsite (Insbruck, Austria) around 6.30pm and arrived there at 8.15pm. It was still raining, even became heavier. We couldn't even get out from the bus. All participants decided to stay in mobile home except us!!.. Don't ask me why... All was En. Mus...

There's a swimming pool facilities at this campsite. Awesome, my husband and my little prince and princess took the opportunity to swim again! Surprisingly in cold weather and in the darkness!!!!

Dinner tonight was so tastyl. Nasi lemak perfect with the accessories such as ikan bilis, kacang, telur rebus dan timun.

End of day 4
